Alessandra Di Pisa (b 1977) has worked with a wide range of artistic expressions such as video, performance, text, sound art, installations, artist books and robotics. Her early works centered around concepts of identity, as well as explorations of linguistic and visual rhetorical manipulations.
Since 2010 Di Pisa is part of the artist duo DiPisaStasinski together with Robert Stasinski. Their joint art production is based on dialogical aesthetics, psychology, cognitive science and artificial intelligence. Together they work in long-term, investigative, transdisciplinary and collaborative art projects, involving a wide range of people from different professional fields and institutions.
In addition to her artistic practice, Alessandra Di Pisa is a associate professor in visual communication and design as well as director of studies at Linköping University. Previous teaching positions include KTH Media Technology and Interaction Design, KTH School of Architecture and Berghs School of Communication.
Di Pisa has a MFA in Fine Art from Konstfack (SV), a BFA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College (UK) and has studied design at Parsons School of Design (NY).
